OK, nevermind, it successfully installed but it crashes python everytime I try to use pylab. I am on Mac OS X. Has anyone succesfully installed matplotlib on this operating system? If so, please help me!

@Hudson, see my similar question, with my answer, under "Does anyone here know how to install pyLab..."  In short, you have to have numpy installed before matplotlib.
