I need to explain how to compare these real #'s: 4.65 x 10 squared, 9/100, 0.063 and 0.053615. Pls. help.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Well, the easiest way is to convert them all to decimals, I think. So \(4.65 \times 10^2\) is the same thing as \(4.65 \times 100\), which is 465 (you move the decimal point right twice). 9 / 100 is similar: when you divide by a hundred, you move the decimal point *left* twice, so you get 0.09. So now you're trying to compare: 465, 0.09, 0.063, and 0.053615
