OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a derivative is how a function changes as you change inputs... in calculus you usually deal with instantaneous change...very useful for physics

Thanks.

Actually, that's not quite correct. A derivative is a measurement of the rate of change of a function (think of the slope of a line; that's a derivative).
