how do use equations to make a perfect squared?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can create a perfect square by halving the coefficient of x and squaring it. for eg. \[a^2+16a+_\] you halfve 16 = 8 and then sqare that so 8squared is 64 therefore the perfect square would be \[a^2+16a+64= (a+8)^2\]
