I dont understand the following problem.  Saniti traveled 7/12 of the distance to her cousins house before taking a break.  Which fraction represents the remainder of her trip?  If her total trip is 240 miles, how far does she still need to travel?

well....we know that 12/12 is equal to 240 mi...so 1/12 is equal to 240/12 or 20 miles. So if she has finished 7/12 of it (or 140/240 miles), then she has 5/12 or 100 miles left to go
