Factor each polynomial: 5x^2 - 8x - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x^2 -10x + 2x -4 = 5x(x-2) +2(x-2) =(5x+2) (x-2)

hi..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dear sweetwon1 i m in class 7th the answer is following: we can write -8x as (-10x + 2x) Now we will put the value of -8x in the expression So we get 5x^2 - 10x + 2x - 4 we will divide it into 2 parts: (5x^2 - 10x) and 2x - 4 first we will solve 1st part: 5x^2 - 10x 5x taking common we get: 5x(x - 2) now solving 2nd part: 2x - 4: 2(x - 2) NOW WE SEE THAT X-2 is common in both parts so (5x + 2) + (x-2) is the answer you are looking for what is your class can u tell me.
