You have "y = this" and "y = that." Because both "this" and "that" are equal to y, they must be equal to each other. Set them equal to each other, then bring all terms to the same side (because the equation is a quadratic and that's what we do). Then just solve. Did I give you enough?

You are. Because 5x+1 is equal to y, you are substituting 5x+1 in place of the other y.

i end up with 5x=x^2+4 i cant do anything after that step..... atleast i dont think so?!
