in the diagram below PQRS is a trapezoid with ST perpindicular to PQ. TU is the median if SR=x PQ =x +10 and TU =17 what is the value of x?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
helpp
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it is very difficult, to explain concept about geometry......
you are welcome to talk to me on skype ,if u want so,
nothing to pay.....

median = ((x+10)+x)/2=17
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then x = 12
right?? tell me if its wrong

how did u get that formula and how do u know where to plug in everything?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
PQ is parallel to RS right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then
median=TU=(PQ+RS)/2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what is this formula i was never taught this

xD
OpenStudy (anonymous):
woah i see and yes it was 12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay... study smart :) are you muslim?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yupe name kinda gives it away doesnt it? lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):

waiiitt one more question
OpenStudy (anonymous):
if SR=4 and PQ=12 WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF TU?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
SR and PQ parallel?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
TU= median?

yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then
median =8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how do u find it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is my answer correct?

the same formula im using
that is
(sum of the parallel side)/2 = (PQ+RS)/2=(12+4)/2= median
median = 16/2= 8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ohh i seee your a great help man thanks

Wallahualam.. Farewell

asalamwalikum take care
