find the y-int, the vertex and the line of symmetry and graph the following: y=-x squared-4x-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can someone help me solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y-int is when x=0 -> y=-1 For vertex and line of symmetry, we need the to "complete the squares". y=-x²-4x-4+4-1 y=-(x²+4x+4)+(4-1) y=-(x+2)²+3 so, vertex is (-2,3), symmetry is x=-2
