A loaded die has been weighted to cause certain numbers to come up more frequently than others. A die was rolled 100 times. the results are shown in the table. ( i will draw that ) a) determine the experimental probability of each outcome. b) what is the theoretical probability of each outcome? c) could the die be "loaded" ? explain d) what could you do to verify your conclusion part c) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Outcome = 1 2 3 4 5 6 , frequency = 3 22 6 36 16 17\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the table for this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you put spaces in between the frequency values?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok !! outcome = 1 2 3 4 5 6 frequency = 3 22 6 36 16 17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) Experimental probability is the probability of each occurrence based on the table alone 1 3/100 2 11/50 3 3/50 4 9/25 5 4/25 6 17/100

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

sorry i can't help... but if you have any calculus problems, I would LOVE to help! LOL I always sucked at stat... find it pointless and boring -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The theoretical is what you'd expect with an "unloaded," or fair dice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the theoretical probability of each outcome should then be 1/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For c: Yes, the die could be loaded. 4 showed up much more than would be theoretically predicted and 1 much less

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For D: To prove this, we would need to roll the dice a very large number of times. As the number of trials gets very large, the experimental probability should become closer to the experimental if the dice is fair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankyou soo much :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hope that helps :) Does all of that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im getting like an 98 in this course.. but it will go down in to 9% probably after this test :(

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

YAY!!! IMA FAN U MEGAFLUFF AND already faned u msw.. Hope u guys can help me with my stat hw if i need any help...

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

anybody good with essays? lol I hate english...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, about what are you writing?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

some BS about american dream..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That does sound like absolute BS. Hopefully you're allowed to be a cynic about the current state of the American dream...

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

LOL, im just makin stuff uupp... and i'd rather solve 50 more calculus problems.. =(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given that prompt, I'd go with the calculus too

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

LOL yup.. well lemme get to work...
