3 new ships. PP, CP, & MP. CP hs 39 more staterooms than the PP. The MP has 40 fewer staterooms than 4 times the number on the PP. Total number of staterooms on all 3 ships is 719. What is the number of rooms per ship?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

CP=PP+39. MP=4PP-40. MP+PP+CP=719 Substitue equations 1 adn 2 into the third to get: (4PP-40)+PP+(PP+39)=719 So 6PP-1=719 So 6PP=720 So PP has 120. Then CP has 159 (39 more) and MP has 420 (to make 719)

Please excuse the double post. MP is 440 arithmetic error.
