Hi, I would like to request help on the following difference equation problem. What is a solution of the first order difference equation y(k+1) = y(k) + 5?

This is just a recurrence relation. There is no explicit solution if you don't have a known value (i.e. y(0)=y_0). The solution should be of the form y(k)=y_0+5k
You know this because the recurrence relation is arithmetic in nature.
