how do you find y intercept?

The y intercept is when X=0, subsitute X into your equation and the value of Y will be your y intercept, i.e. (0,Y). Assuming it has one. if your equation was y =5x + 2, then your y value when x=0 would be y =5*0 + 2 y = 0 + 2 y = 2
