can u explain how u got that
distribute the 7x^2 into (x+Y) to get 7x^3+7x^2y-(x+y)
then distribute the -(x+y) to get -x-y
ok I am totally lost on that one.

The CF is (x+y); so, take that part out, and write what's left of each term. (x+y) (7x²-1)
