How about helping me see the process of factoring -2x^3 - 12x^2 + 30x + 200? Thanks.
I would first take the 2 out: 2(-x^3 - 6x^2 + 15x + 100)
Now, Im lost lol... havent factored by hand in a while... let me see..
im in diff eqns, we barely factor by hand
actually take -2 out..
Did that...now what?
i think i see a (x+5)^2 somewhere, but not sure yet..
yes...that's part of the answer but how do you know that?
just doin trial and error, let me figure it out lol..
If I am right then we need to find an x^2+10x+25 in there..
You are right...the other part of the answer is an (x - 4)...can't see it.
wait lemme google how to do this, refresh my memory..
omg i just realized how much i hate cubics... forgot how i got the x+5...
me too
wait i think i can check somewhere..
aww wolframalpha is not showing steps..=( when is this due?
Factor by grouping!
okay ive tried gorupin every danged term..
Oh, then never mind. That was just a wild guess.
oh lol, i thought i was goin crazy..
I'm a teacher...was going to teach it tomorrow...but I can wait.
I've been trying to figure it out all day.
LOL really? WOW I am stuck at a similar one for my diff eqns class, gotta solve a cubic equation, even calculator is not helpin..
