OpenStudy (kristina):

FACTOR 5(X-2)-9X(X-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5-9x)(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor by grouping dude

OpenStudy (sandra):

ok, so let's expand this out

OpenStudy (sandra):

5(x-2) - 9x(x-2) = 5*x - 5*2 - 9x*x -9x*-2

OpenStudy (sandra):

5x - 10 - 9x^2 + 18x

OpenStudy (sandra):

combine like terms (all the x's)

OpenStudy (sandra):

23x - 10 - 9x^2

OpenStudy (oaktree):

No, that's not how you do it...you can just factor out a (x-2) from both terms and get (-9x+5)(x-2)

OpenStudy (sandra):

ah good point

OpenStudy (sandra):

=)
