the first term has factors of : 1*9, 3 * 3 the last term has factors of :1*1 ( - 1)( - 1) must be the last terms in each (), now try the factors of 9 (3x-1)(3x-1), if you multiply the outside terms you get -3x, if you mulfiply the inside terms you get - 3x, when adds up to -6x
Instead of guess and check, you could use the AC method to get a proper answer.

(3x - 1)(3x - 1) 3x *3x - 1*3x - 1*3x -1*-1 9x^2 - 6x + 1
