Part 1: Write an expression for the following real-world situation. Katie is moving to a new house. Small boxes hold 15 pounds each and medium boxes hold 25 pounds each. Write an expression for the total weight in the moving van if Katie uses "s" small boxes and "m" medium boxes. Part 2: Write a real-world situation of your own and a VARIABLE expression to go with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w = 15*s + 25*m The "15" and "25" are indicating the weight of the small and medium boxes, so all you'd have to do to find the weight would be to replace "s" with the number of small boxes and "m" with the number of medium boxes. For part two, I can't help you. Just think about the explanation above and of some things you could find by using an equation. These are usually about the number of items in a group of stuff. Be creative! Try things like, how many tires are there on the road? There's 4 per car, and then you go from there. I hope this helps.
