I had a similar problem which I solved by upgrading to the 2.7.1 version. Otherwise I had to constantly close the idle service via the task manager, then try restarting IDLE - a real pain. Once I upgraded to the 2.7.1 version of Python, this error stopped. Perhaps your error is similar.
which operating system you use?upgrading python in windows sometimes creates trouble for the dll dependency ...in linux machines the upgrade is more seamless..
I am currently using Win 7 on one machine, and LinuxMint on another. The most trouble I had was on my old WinXP.
