For 5/9, make a common denominator of 36 and see if 3/4 is greater or less than that fraction. Also, for 17/24, make 3/4 have a common denominator of 24 and decipher which one has a greater value.
you know that 7/9 is greater than 5/9. find a common denominator in order to compare them all. the easiest way to find a common denominator is to multiply the denominators by each other. to do this, multiply 5/9*24/24, 17/24*9/9, 7/9*24/24, and then compare them.
