how do you write this as a complex number in standard form? (6-4i)-(-1+7i)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You distribute the negative sign into the (-1+7i) and then you just add like terms. So: 6 -4i +1 -7i Then you get your answer: 7 - 13i All good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that's what i thought. just making sure, thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course! :D

OpenStudy (radar):

Why not 6-11i

OpenStudy (radar):

I mean to say why not 7-11i
