Can someone help? Pretty easy question, just need to understand it a bit more: A survey of the time spent on homework showed that 1/6 of an average class spent 90 minutes per day and 5/18 spent 20 minutes per day. Which group of students was larger?

Try making the denominators of the fractions equal by multiplying both the denominator and numerator by a factor.

For example: 1/6 * 2/2 = 2/12
