That is already in simplest form. Because the bases are not the same you cannot combine the terms.

In expanded form would it be: 3sqrt(a)+9sqrt(b)-sqrt(b)-2sqrt(a)

Ok, then that does simplify to sqrt(a)+8sqrt(b)
