if compound interest always earn MORE money why would we think about simple interEst at all?

Is this a part of your homework or are you complaining? Either's okay... haha. :) My opinion: I think compound interest is harder to calculate than simple interest, and that's why I learned how to do simple interest first. Got me in the correct mindset as far as knowing what a principal, rate, and time are. Also, since the extra money generated from compound interest is so small, simple interest gives us a good idea of the amount of interest without a lengthy calculation.
