solution set of absolute value 1-6x-8<-1
What parts are in the absolute value? Is it |1-6x|-8<-1?
yes
not sure how to do the absolute value things
On the keyboard its shift and then above the enter key. If you add the 8 to both sides you get: |1-6x|<7 This means 1-6x<7 and 1-6x>-7 Solving for x results in: -6x<6 and -6x>-8 x>-1 and x<4/3 or in interval notation: (-1, 4/3)
-12<-5x+3<2 i got no solution
If you subtract 3 from all the terms you get: -15<-5x<-1 Then divide by -5 3>x>1/5 or looking the other way 1/5<x<3 which is (1/5, 3) Remember: if you divide or multiply by a negative number you have to change the direction of the less than and greater than signs.
I have 2 is less than or equal to 5x+2<17 I got in interval notation [0,3) is that correct
0 less than or equal to x<3
