If you write this with arrows, things will make more sense. For example, here \[Square\rightarrow Rectangle\] and \[Rectangle\rightarrow Parallelogram\] The law of syllogism says if \[A\rightarrow B\] and \[B\rightarrow C\] then \[A\rightarrow C\] So here, we deduce that \[Square \rightarrow Parallelogram\]
