I am working on logarithms, the question is to find the expontent to which ten must be raised to obtain this number: 3560

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The object here is to find x for \[10^x = 3560\] By definition of logarithm, solving for x gives \[x = \log_{10}3650\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do I solve that? finding the exponent when it is x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For this sort of thing, you probably have to use a calculator (if there's a log button, that means log base 10, which is what you want).

OH. (: thanks!

can you explain the ground rules about logs because I am just having a hard time picturing all this stuff in my head. ): blah
