m --- + m 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6/5 m (six fifths m)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Need help with how to show that answer.

OpenStudy (radar):

M/5 IS THE SAME AS (M)1/5 THEN YOU ARE ADDING (1 +1/5)M or 1 1/5 m

OpenStudy (radar):

converting to improper fraction (m)6/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you very very much what through me off was the fact that the m was by itself and not sure if that meant that it should be m over m.

OpenStudy (radar):

Sometimes the expression can be perplexing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that is no kidding still kind of confused on how the m over 5 plus m got to answer 6m over 5

OpenStudy (radar):

Well look at it this way you are adding 1m which can be expressed as 5/5 m (5/5=1) and one fith m (1/5 m) answer would be 6/5 m (one whole m plus one fifth m)
