(x4 + 5x3 - 2x2 -4x + 4) ÷ (x + 3)
search for Polynomial Long Division
x+3 goes in the front. then you do a long division thing and insert x4+5x3-2x2-4x+4. Then, you start with x times something gives you x4, which is x3, (x X x3=x4). And you put x3 on top of the long division thing. Go ahead and subtract the x4 thats is the inside of the long division thing with x4. After you do that you go ahead and multiply the 3 thats in the outside of the long division with the x3 you have on the top. (3 X x3+ 3x3). after u do this go ahead and subtract it with the number with the same expenent that is inside of the long division which is the 5x3. ( 5x3-3x3+2x3). Now that you have that done you do the same proocess but starting with 2x3. Ur answer should be something like.... x3+2x2-4x and something with remainder.... Hope this helps.
let me know if u have any questions about the explanation i gave u, i know its long but its very easy.
