|2x-9|+9 >10

Not sure what the problem is here. If you let the value of x be -1 then 2x-9 would equal -11. The parallel bars are asking for the absolute value of the expression inside which is the absolute value of -11 which is 11. 11 is one greater then 10.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

|2x-9|+9>10 |2x-9|>1 2x-9>1 or 2x-9<-1 2x>10 or 2x<8 x>5 or x<4 If I recall correctly :) x= (-infinity,4) or (5,infinity)
