on a biolgy poster, a beetle is drawn to the scale of 9 cm:2 cm. If the drawing on the poster is 28 cmlomg, how long is the actual beetle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you have a 9:2 ratio, that means 9cm on the poster represents 2 cm in real life. If you divide by 9 to get "1cm" on the poster, them multiply by 2 to get "2cm" in real life, you have your size. 28*(2/9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if its poster size is 28cm... Poster : real life = 9cm : 2cm =1cm: 2/9cm =28cm: 28 x 2/9 =28cm: 6/2/9. or 6.222... or 56/9 cm.
