I need help setting up a legend for pylab, keeps giving me errors, I think im just using the wrong syntax. legend() ?

kind of figured it out not sure why the syntax is how it is tho, but i have to do plot([],[], label = 'name') and then call legend()

do you know what line 1-3 are? legend( (line1, line2, line3), ('label1', 'label2', 'label3') )

I believe they're line plots. Created with the plot function.
