If you pour half of a full small bucket of water into an empty big bucket, the big bucket will be three tenths full. How many times bigger than the small bucket is the big bucket?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets say x = the small bucket, y = the big bucket then; \[1/2 x=3/10y\] Timesing both sides by 2 then by 10 and finally dividing by 6 we find that So the big bucket is 5/3 the size of the small bucket.

\[y=5/3x\]
