5x-3=12x+11 -7(5p+3)-49=2(3p+6) 4+3(4n+6)-n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are those 3 separate questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) x= -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me some time to figure out number 2 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i keep on coming up with the wrong answer for all 3 of them and dont know how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x-3=12x+11 First subtract 5x from both sides: -3 = 7x + 11 Subtract 11 from both sides: -14 = 7x Divide by 7 on both sides: x = -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i was trying to add 5 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh do you get the second one? or do you need explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i add -7 to 2(3p+6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you multiply: -7(5p) + -7(3) and that gives you an equation as: -35p + -21-49 = 6p +6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so at the end your equation is -76 =9p and then you get the answer by dividing 9p to -76

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that what i got but i get -8.4 it does not look right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the third answer is 22 + 11n and i don't know if you want me to simplify it or keep it like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm let me try the second answer again...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you get the third answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i did just before you posted it trying to work on 2
