What values of "x" make the bottom = 0? We need to throw out those values because it is against the law to divide by 0.... I think the penalty is a small fine :) When we multiply 2 number together, they equal (0) when either of the numbers is (0) 2(0) = 0; 5(0) = 0; 129(0)=0 So, x(x-3) cannot be x(0) OR 0(x-3) x cannot be 0 and x cannot be 3 Both of these values produce a (0), and any number times (0) equals (0)
