9t=-48. anyone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you not understand about the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you divide by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well you want to find what t is right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you divide by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you divide by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could, but that would make you have more work to do. Instead, you should try and make t be all by itself after you divide. So it is easier to divide by 9 the first time. This gives 9t = -48 t = -16/3 Or if you divide by 3 9t = -48 3t = -16 t = -16/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks. how about this one: y/11=-19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think you should do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-19*11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right. -209

i have a problem that reads 10x-5x-3x=0. i got 2 for the answer. is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I'm not sure you copied the problem over correctly. When simplified, you get 10x-5x-3x = 0 2x = 0 x = 0 So are you sure that's the correct equation?
