Complete the Square: t^2-9t PLEASE HELP , need the steps in doing this!
Look at the coefficient of the second term with the variable raised to a power of 1. Divide that coefficient by two. Now write (t-4.5)^2. To expand a binomial, you square the front term, multiple the two terms and double them and square the back. So if you notice if you do that, you get back t^2-9t. However, you also have to square the back giving you +4.5^2. You don't want that, you want the original equation, so all you have to do is subtract 4.5, so it's: (t-4.5)^2-4.5^2
i don't get it.
so i start out with t^2-9t
my hw first says i want a completed trinomial....
what part dont you understand, the process i did was completing the square which is what your homework wants
