Kara's family is installing a circular pool in their back yard. The pool has a diameter of 12 feet and a circumference of 38.0 feet. What are the dimensions of Kara's pool, in meters?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

circumference is 2*pi*radius. divide 38 by 2*pi to get a radius of approx. 6 ft. Or, divide the diameter by two to also get 6. With the radius, you can solve for the area of the pool (but not the volume; you need height). The area is pi*r*r, or approx. 113.1 square ft.
