use the graph of f(x) = log x to obtain the graph of g(x) = log x + 5. i dont know what the coordinates are for log x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shift the graph of log x , 5 unit towards positive y direction you will get the log x+5. to draw the graph of log x you must know that log x is only defined for positive value of x. so it doesnt go to negative side of x. again ...when x tends to 0.....log x tends to -infinite when x=1.........log x=0 when x tend to infinite....log x tends to infinite.. using this you can draw a sickle shape graph...thats the graph of log x

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would the coordinates be though other than (1,0)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the other coordinates can be plot by using log table...we take only rough idea when drawing the graph.
