differentiate y= 5sinh(x/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, this makes use of the chain rule: \[y=5\sinh(x/2)\]\[y\prime=(5*\cosh(x/2))/2\] Remember, when applying the chain rule, it's the derivative of the outer function, i.e. sinh(x) with the inner function plugged in, i.e. x/2 times the derivative of the inner function (x/2)

ok thanks that helps a ton. i get so confused with the chain rule
