8a^2t^-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, i was about to mention that grouping symbols should be used at each "level" of exponent... i.e. by the above expression are you saying: 8time a raised to the power 2t and 2t raised to the power of -3? if so write as 8a^(2t)^(-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep thats how i meant it.

OpenStudy (radar):

\[8a ^{2t}^{-3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you saying i should just post a question and then do what u did?

OpenStudy (radar):

I was trying to use that darn equation editor....to no avail

OpenStudy (radar):

\[8a ^{2t ^{-3}}\]

OpenStudy (radar):

That is the expression, now what do you want to do with it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplify it.

OpenStudy (radar):

Let me try to do with the editor. \[8a ^{2/t ^{3}}\]

OpenStudy (radar):

Don't know if that really simplifies it or not. Hopefully some one else will verify. Do you have the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is there. thank you.
