factor:64x^3+125

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a^3+b^3)=(a+b)(a^2-ab+b^3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is that factored? THat does not give the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

64x^3 = (4x)^3 125 = 5^3 I'm sure you can do the rest yourself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i do not get how to do it thats why im asking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let a = 4x b = 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be (4x-5)(x2-5x+25)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^2 = (4x)^2 = 16x^2 (a isn't on the x term, it is 4x) ab = 20x b^2= 25 (just noticed theres a typo, it is (a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2)) Therefore it is actually (4x+5)(16x^2-20x+25)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Edit: (a isn't only the x term, it is 4x)
