area if a rectangle: 20*60?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the width is 20 and the length is 60 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so area of a rectangle is length times width

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 80 *20 = area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1200 but would it be squared?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore the area is 1600

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are your units[centimeters,inches,meters]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area is 60*20=1200 units squared . You don't square 1200 itself, it is simply the units. For exampl,e if it was 60cm length, and 20 cm width, the area would be 1200cm^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry i thought it was 80 yes the answer is 1200 ft^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
