Two cars leave the same parking lot at noon, one car drives 30mph faster than the 2nd car, which is driving due west at what time will they be 1200 miles apart

ok, so if they're traveling the same direction (west), it's asking you at what point the first car has driven 1200 miles further
they give you how much faster the first car is going - 30mph - i.e. for each hour, it gets 30 miles further. so at what point will the car be 1200 miles further? The answer is 1200miles/30miles/hour = 40 hours
