i have a ti 83, and i want to plug this equation r=1+cos(theta)( this is polar coordinates) into my calculator but the graph does not look right. i think i messed around with the windows or table set menu and i cant fix it.

I'm assuming you have the calculator set on polar, so the y= screen is in r=, and the x value pulls up theta wen you enter it. Try pressing the zoom standard button, then do maybe a zoom box. You should have a cartioid.

also check to make sure the mode is in degrees and not radians. The radians gives you a bunch of boxy lines around the cartioid and you can't make out the graph. I bet that is what it is.
