i get really comfused, on the greater and less than signes, which one is greater and which one is lesser

look at > = add a line to it and u'll get the letter b : |> = big :) and < for small

we always saw the sign as an alligator eating the alrgest number. You can also look at it as the biiger side is the bigger number and the smaller side is towards the smaller number; which is actually what it represents. L < B and B > L Notice how the big end always faces the bigger number and the little end always faces the little number?
