Are you sure there isn't a \[\pi\] in your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im suppose to find the radius. the area = 84ft^2

What class are you in? This comes out to be a very strange number so I am wondering what type of answer you are looking for.

Well.. if you are sure that all it says is Area = 84ft^2 and you are to find the radius. The formula is A = "pi"r^2. (sorry, I don't know how to get the pi symbol). So 84 = "pi"r^2.. so in a calculator take 84/"pi" if you have the "pi" key or maybe your teacher wants you to use 3.14 for pi. If so take 84/3.14 The idea is to get r^2 by itself so you divide by "pi". Then you get about 26.73 So 26.73 = r^2. The way you get r by itself is to square root both sides. If you do you get about 5.17 feet for the raidus

ok thank u
