Gasoline is about $5 per gallon. You use about 1 1/2 gallons each day driving to and from work. How much should you budget for gasoline over the next month (about 20 workdays)?

You would need to take 1 1/2 times 20 that would be the number of gallons you would need for the month. You can do this several ways. You can turn 1 1/2 into 1.5 if you know that and take that time 20. You can turn 1 1/2 into an improper fraction which is 3/2 and take that times 20. If you do it this way, take 3 times 20 = 60 and then divide by 2 which is 30 also 1.5 * 20 = 30 So you need 30 gallons of gas. If each gallon costs $5.00 then you need about 30 * 5 dollars for the month which is $150
