The first thing you do is to take out the common factor which is 3. So you have
3(x^2 + 6x + 9)
Then you are trying to find factors of 9 that add to get 6. That would be 3 and 3.
So it factors into 3(x + 3)(x + 3) which should be written 3(x + 3)^2
