Hot dogs at a carnival cost $0.99 each plus 7% tax. What is the total cost for one hot dog? im guessing i multiply?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to know what 7% of $0.99 is because that will be your tax. Anytime you say "of" you "multiply", any time you say "out of" you "divide". So the tax is .0693 found by taking .07 * 0.99 You should round the tax to .07 so there is 7 cents tax on the hot dog. So the hot dog costs $0.99 + $0.07 = $1.06
